The 2010/11 season within the Cotswold youth league started this weekend with a home game against Wotton Rovers Tigers.

With a great player turn out allowing us to run two games, it was a great atmosphere at the Red Bull Pitches, with several games across the age groups taking place simultaneously.

We started with our very first competitive league game, with the team showing how far they have come. Great individual performances from everyone and a great team performance too. The players are now finding a particular position that suits them at this moment in time and showing they can cover and support their team mates throughout the game too. Lots of goals and a few rugby conversions too! made for a good game to watch.

A great first game ended in a convincing victory, with a lot of positives to take from it and at the same time highlighting areas to be worked on.

The second game made sure everyone who wanted to play football got a full game. We used this game to give other players including new, more match time experience and a chance to shine away from the more game experienced players. This showed up some great performances from all the players, who will continue to become good football players. Away from the pressure of a league game, all the players looked to enjoy themselves.

A great performance from every player involved in both games. Well done everyone.
