This year MYFC under 8’s who play in the cotswold youth league won the fair play trophy this season.
The boys have had a fantastic year and at every match they show great sportsman ship and this was proved by winning the trophy. A huge thank you to the parents and the parents that refereed as they were also marked at each game.
On 23rd June 2012 we took part in the Castle Combe tournament. We had two teams in the competition, both played really well against some tough competition. The Spitfires lost one game and drew the other three and the Hurricanes won one, drew two and lost one. All the boys played fantastic but i would like to give a special mention to Toby T who played the best he has ever played and if they was an award for the most improved player this season he would of shown me today how much he would derserve to win it.
At the presentation we started to think the hurricanes had been forgotten but to our surprise it turned out the boys were last for a reason, they had won the fair play trophy for the day beating 19 other teams.
A huge Well done goes to the boys, Henry W, Lochlan A, Toby T, Adam R, Cian P, Barnaby G, and Zak A. A thank you must also go to Dan Watling who coached the hurricanes for today’s tournament. To win two fair play trophy’s in one season is an outstanding achievement for the boys. They have made me very proud and made my first year as their coach a very enjoyable and fulfilling season.
