The final stage of our 2009/10 season was taking part in our home 6-a-side festival here at Malmesbury. We use the home festival as a chance to give all our signed on players a run out within the same festival, we do this by entering 2 equal ability teams.
Goalkeeping duties were shared between Tom Waldron, Jack Baker, Jack Coleman and Jacob Kelly. With excellent performances, using hands, feet, body and even heading the ball to keep the opposition at bay.
Once again rock steady defending from Lucas Pascoe and Thomas Wassili, both showing how far their technical defending game has come.
With player positions being rotated, midfield and up front were covered by some great play. Luke Tappin produced some surging runs creating some great chances and along with Jon Sneddon, William Hulme, Jacob Kelly and Jack Baker, the opposition didn’t have any time on the ball due to their clever and well timed tackles and general hunger to get the ball.
Outstanding goalkeeping denied numerous strikes from Keiran Butcher, who deserved at least one for all his efforts up and down the pitch.
A near ‘confidence boosting’ goal from William Hulme was denied by the post, but still great to see.
A great partnership forming on the pitch, Tom Waring and Jack Coleman showing some stylish football, constant pass, move and shoot, With Tom missing out on a goal by no more than 3inches. A pair to watch in the future.
Three players on the score sheet throughout the festival, Jacob Kelly and Thomas Wassili, each of them with a finely placed goal of high standard. Jack Coleman finished the day with 3 great goals, which were of equally high standard.
Superb team performances, with all goals coming from great team play.
