On a grey squally day in Trowbridge, Malmesbury South are playing in the league against Trowbridge who last time out Malmesbury beat at home. In the first half Malmesbury are playing with the wind at their backs.
Malmesbury take the early initiative with shots from Max and Jasper. Another Malmesbury attack follows and they win a corner. Charlie takes it and the keeper doesn’t collect and the ball drops to Josh who scores. GOAL

Trowbridge respond and go on the attack, shoot but just high of the bar. Malmesbury return to the attack, with Kyle picking it up in midfield, shoots but wide. Neat play between Kyle and Jasper, leaves Jasper in on goal but keeper saves.
After a period of Malmesbury pressure Trowbridge go on the attack and look like they are in on goal, but a great tackle by Pete clears the danger.
Charlie picks up the ball just inside the Trowbridge half and cracks it goal bound and scores.GOAL

Malmesbury continue to press but Trowbridge break out rapidly from defence down the left wing, shoot and score. GOAL
1 – 2

Game on. Malmesbury return to the attack with Jack surging down the left wing and cuts inside, but Trowbridge clear the danger. Max goes on a run down the wing beats the defender, shoots but keeper collects.
Malmesbury go again, Ryan hits a lovely ball from the wing in to the middle, Jasper collects shoots and scores. GOAL
1 – 3

Malmesbury continue to press, with several promising attacks, a neat ball from George puts Jasper in a foot race with the keeper who collects.
Trowbridge respond but subsequent attacks are stopped by great defending by Jack and Max. Malmesbury return to the attack and press hard for a goal, two shots by George are blocked by defenders and Ryan shoots wide.
Half time arrives with the game at 1 – 3.


The second half starts, Trowbridge now have the wind behind them and go on the attack and Malmesbury are under pressure in the early stages of the half.
Malmesbury return to the attack with a strong run down the left by Pete, passes to Kyle who is on goal but the keeper saves and collects the rebound. Trowbridge go on the attack but great work by Harry to stop the danger. Neat interplay between George and Jasper lead to promising chances but the Trowbridge keeper is out quickly to collect.
Trowbridge go on the attack and several good chance lead to shots but wide. Trowbridge sustain the pressure, with an attack through the middle but a great save by Harry prevents what looks like a certain goal.
Trowbridge win a corner, which they knock across the box and nearly goes in due the strong wind with Harry a spectator. Trowbridge continue to press but stout defending by Malmesbury keep them out including a great clearance header by Angus. Again Trowbridge attack but this is repelled by the Malmesbury defence with Max and Angus at the thick of it.
Several more Trowbridge attacks follow with Trowbridge shooting wide on two occasions. As the game draws towards a close it looks like Trowbridge are in on goal but again great work from Angus deals with this clear and present danger!
The referee blows the final whistle to bring the game to an end.


Congratulations to Malmesbury for a hard earned victory with a fine defensive performance in the second half against a very strong wind.
