After all the planing, after all the hard work, we finally got to see the end product. And I think everyone involved did the club proud.
With a lot of help from volunteers and with everything the children had made and painted, it looked as if we could be onto a winner. But as it was our first attempt at a float build, we were more than happy to collect 2nd prize. A great achievement.
More importantly than the results, the float created a lot of great family time during the craft days, and some very good lasting memories for both children and adults. These memories include, Two refs and a lion using a pub toilet at the same time!, a ref and an Oompa-Loompa watching a fairground ride and the 'Quote of the Float' (no names mentioned) 'Its so embarrassing when old women try to dance!'
Everyone on the night looked as though they were having a great time and the town seemed to appreciate our float.
I final thank you to anyone who had any involvement with the float, it couldn't have been done without you.
Enjoy the photos and bring on Carnival 2011.
Thank you from the Carnival Team.
