Malmesbury Youth Football Club (MYFC) has a coaching development plan in place for the 2014/15 season and beyond.
Part of the coaching development plan will see MYFC working closely with the FA Skills Team. The FA Skills Team will deliver coaching sessions across the season on various topics within the game. This will give our MYFC players the chance to take part in FA lead sessions. It will also give the MYFC coaches a chance to observe, ask questions and build their knowledge.
MYFC will also be using an FA allocated club mentor. The club mentor is there to offer total club support, from club management, coaching development and session delivery.
Our in house coaching development will mainly be through FA courses. We look to get as many MYFC coaches through our set plan courses as possible.
The club set plan FA courses are –
- 1 FA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football
- 2 FA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football
- 1 The FA Youth Award Module 1
- 2 The FA Youth Award Module 2
- 3 The FA Youth Award Module 3
- A The FA Youth Award Module Assessment
Alongside these major FA coaching courses, are free FA lead coaching development sessions. MYFC coaches will be attending these FA delivered sessions across the season, at various locations. This is normally 12 x 3hr sessions, with varying topics within the game.
While we are building our coaching knowledge through FA courses, we will be developing our coaches as a club too.
As MYFC coaches within the club, we will be looking to spend time working with other age groups, teams and coaches. Taking us out of our comfort zone and learning from other players and coaches within the club. This will play a huge part in developing some well rounded, knowledgeable coaches, here at MYFC.
Through courses and personal football experiences throughout our lives, we have a huge wealth of knowledge and experience here at MYFC. This will be spread across the club in the form of the MYFC coaching development plan.
