Welcome to Malmesbury Youth Football Club

The club, which is located on the outskirts of the old market town of Malmesbury, the oldest borough in England, was founded some 20 years ago. During this time the club has provided the opportunity for many thousands of youngsters in Malmesbury and surrounding area to play their favourite sport.
We are an FA charter standard Development club, the second Youth Football Club in Wiltshire to achieve this status, where some 30 volunteers work tirelessly in making sure our players continue to develop and improve their footballing skills with particular focus on teamwork, sportsmanship and above all, having fun.

We have 13 teams within the age groups from Under-6 to Under-16 including an all girl team. The club has seen many positive changes over the years and recently with the help from our sponsors we have been able to build our new changing room facilities which were opened in July 2009.

I should have made the decision to write a smiley, happy, 'its the taking part that counts' match report for every game from the start of the season! But I didn't, so I must continue with a report that reflects the game from a coaches point of view.

Not sure what to say here, apart from it's starting to feel a bit slippy at the top of the table!

The first half of our season contained great performances from MYFC, calm, clever, attacking passing football. The team was looking sharp with goals and wins coming each week.

U10: MR Bishops Cannings 120115

Well it had to come at some point, and taking into account the last couple of MYFC performances, today was that day.

To try and ease the blow, I'm putting it down to the afternoon kick off!

We traveled away for our first league game against Bishops Cannings. As I never read anything into the league table and past results at this age, Bishops Cannings were an unknown to us.

MYFC seem to be lacking in confidence and determination at the moment, Making games very hard for ourselves.

U10: MR Westbury Youth Pumas 120108

We welcomed our first game of 2012 to the Red Bull, a league game against Westbury Youth Pumas fc.

We have not played a game of football for a month and during our first training session after the Christmas break, we renamed ourselves 'Christmas Pudding FC', due to a clear dip in fitness!

It was a very even first half. Westbury came of the blocks...
